Happy 2016 guys! Today is day 1 out of 365, crazy right?! It's like starting a brand new book, and I sure do love a new, good book. This is totally cliche, but I want to share with you guys my goals for the new year. I say goals instead of resolutions because I feel that the word "resolution" is just a weaker version of goals. Resolutions will just fizz out by January 31st and get replaced with old habits, not what I have in mind for my 2016 plans! SO with out further interruption, here are my goals for the new year!
I hope everyone's 2016 gets off to a great start! Good luck reaching all of your goals. Lets make this year better than the last!
- Get into Nursing school: Yes, I already have a bachelors degree in physiology and kinesiology, but I want more! Being pregnant and going through labor really turned me onto what I think will become my passion. There is just something about pregnancy and bring a baby Earth-side that is exciting and humbling at the same time. Thats why I have a new career path picked out, hopefully within the next few years I will have the chance to become a certified nurse midwife!
- More meditation: I'd like to be able to take time out of my day, everyday to meditate and clear my head. Meditation has done wonders for my mental healthy, but with Nash being born, I haven't really had time to practice anymore. I'd like to take 5 minutes out of my day to sit down and become more grounded.
- Eat more veggies: I am not a huge veggie person and I know i'm not doing my body any good by avoiding this food group. This NEEDS to change.
- Compete: Stepping on the NPC stage is a must this year!
- One blog post a week: I'd like to post on here once a week. Doesn't matter what I post about, could be a workout, a tutorial, or even just an update. I just want this blog to have more consistency,
- Live a greener lifestyle: I've already started making green changes to my everyday life, like making my own toothpaste and making my morning and night routine more natural. I'd like to continue add more. The planet is in trouble and we should all do our part to make it right, even if its just a small green change a day!
- Be the best mama I can be: Helping my little one navigate this strange new world and be able to thrive beautifully in it.
- Learn to shuffle: I will learn to shuffle this year, mark my words! I will get down when the beat drops!
- Less social media: We're all guilty of scrolling through our phones when there is downtime in our lives. This year I plan on spending that down time appreciating the beauty thats all around me instead of aimlessly scrolling through everyone else's life, wasting my own life away.
- Balance: Learn to balance family, a career, fitness, health, and fun. I don't want to be that person who has to choose between all of the things I love in my life. I want to show myself that it really is possible to have it all.
I hope everyone's 2016 gets off to a great start! Good luck reaching all of your goals. Lets make this year better than the last!
